About Us
The Battlefords Housing Authority is the 5th largest housing authority in Saskatchewan delivering social housing programs since 1964.
Who we are
We’re home to more than 1,000 people living in 629 low and moderate income households. Our building assets are owned by Saskatchewan Housing Corporation and we operate as their agency and a registered charity with a local board of directors. We manage 191 rental buildings on property across both the City of North Battleford and the Town of Battleford and contribute just over $1M in property tax payments annually.
Our agency provides an essential community service through the administration of programs that support independent living by providing housing and housing services to those most in need. Our tenants come from many different backgrounds with diversity in age, education, language, mental and physical disability, religion, ethnicity and race. Intended clients are households with low or moderate incomes and limited assets, which includes seniors, families with dependents, people with disabilities (both physical and cognitive) and single adults and couples.
A Board of Directors, made up of seven volunteers from the Town of Battleford and City of North Battleford communities, provides governance and oversight to the General Manager of TBHA. Board members are recommended by a municipal and provincial nominations committee and are appointed by the Minister responsible for SHC.
Work with us
The Battlefords Housing Authority (TBHA) is The Battlefords largest provider of housing, delivering homes for nearly 630 households with low and moderate incomes. By providing clean, safe, wellmaintained and affordable housing, the housing authority provides and invests in quality homes to build neighborhoods toward a better community for all.
We look for the best quality at the best price within our budget. The housing authority is publicly funded through the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC), therefore, accountable to the public for spending public funds wisely. A tendering process provides a means for more accurate control in the allocation of the funds available.
Invitational or public tendering supports both fair allocations of public funds among qualified bidders, as well as fair access to work being tendered by the housing authority.
Public Tenders
The housing authority uses the public tendering process at thresholds set by the Board of Directors and Saskatchewan Housing Corporation. All public tenders are advertised on the Government of Saskatchewan procurement website.
