FAQ's
- If you received a letter and are approved, you are placed on an approved applicant list.
- Eligible households are required to keep their application up to date:
- Submit any changes to your application (Example, a change in income or change in your household). This can be done easily by email, coming to our office and in some cases via a phone call.
- Eligible households are required to contact us at least once every 6 months to remain active on an approved applicant list. Letters are sent every 6 months to update your status.
- Applicants approved for the Valleyview Tower 2 Mixed Use Building are allocated units on a first come first serve basis.
- Social Housing Program applicant housing is assigned to approved applicants who have the highest point score, as these individuals are considered to be the most in need of housing.
- Social Housing Program units are not allocated on a first come first served basis.
- Factors that may impact the amount of time you wait may include:
- The number of buildings or neighbourhoods you prefer – if you only prefer one building or neighbourhood for example, it may take longer for a unit to become available in that location.
- The number of bedrooms that you need – households will be placed in units that have an appropriate number of bedrooms for the household size.
- The amount of time it may take to receive housing support is based on:
- Your need for housing support,
- The number of households who are also eligible, who may be in a higher need based on the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation policies.
- Our availability of housing that meets the requirements for you and your family.
For these reasons and due to the number of approved applicants on our list,
the housing authority is unable to provide estimated wait times or status updates on unit offers.
Applicants are contacted when a unit is available based on their point score.
- You are responsible for updating your information if there are any changes to your application – such as:

- Mailing address

-
- If you do not have any updates to your application, the housing authority communicates with applicants on the approved applicant list every 6 months to determine if applications are still active.
- You are encouraged to submit any updates at any time at our office, over the phone or by email.
- When we receive updates to your application, your application is re-assessed to ensure your application and priority reflects your current situation.
- If you have an outstanding balance, you must pay it in full. You may enter into a payment plan and make payments on the amount owing.
